Well, it's the 1st of April, the day for jokes and making fun of each other. What better day to release a mod, full of jokes and unexpected events?

You Gotta Be Kiddin' Me is a mod that I designed specifically for the April Fools day. I needed a break from Back to Hellfire and I decided to do this mod meanwhile. It doesn't change the game revolutionary, it's made with the sole purpose of making people laugh. I had a lot of fun creating and play-testing it, hope you'll enjoy it too!

F.A.Q.:

Q: Why?
A: Because I can.

Q: Who?
A: Only me. I tried to drag two other individuals into the team, but that didn't work out (I won't mention names, let it remain so).

Q: OMG! Will I be able to talk to Homer Simpson, kill Matrix agents and fight in Mortal Kombat?
A: Yes. And more dumb stuff like that

Q: I want a features list?
A: Sorry, I won't bother making one. Play the mod and find out by yourself

Q: Can I use my LoD characters in this mod?
A: You can, but I don't guarantee that your character will be backwards compatible with LoD after that. This said, I take no responsibility for corrupted characters. Better backup your character before playing it in the mod.

Q: What version of D2 LoD is required?
A: The mod is compatible with D2 LoD 1.10/1.11, both PC and Mac versions.

Q: How to install?
A: For PC, backup your Patch_d2.mpq and then replace it with the Patch_D2.mpq of the mod. Then run the game as usual. For Mac, backup your Diablo II Patch (Carbon) (or Diablo II Patch in older versions of MacOS), then copy the Patch_d2.mpq of the mod in your Diablo II folder and rename it to Diablo II Patch (Carbon) (or Diablo II Patch in older versions of MacOS). Run the game as usual. To uninstall, replace the modded file with the original.

Q: I want to see what it looks like!
A: I have put up a simple gallery page (Warning: MAJOR spoilers!) to show some screenshots from the mod. It can be found here. Note that some of the screenshots are made during development, so there might be (minor) differences to what you actually see in the mod. Press the Refresh icon on the page to see more randomly-chosen screenshots.

Q: Is this all real?
A: No, it was all a joke I'm joking Yes, the mod is real and you can download it here (20.3 MB). Download today, because who knows, it might miraculously disappear on April the 2nd...

Q: I want feature X, but it's not in the mod!
A: Too bad for you. I'm not taking feature requests.

Q: Can I use PlugY with this mod?
A: There should be no problems. However, note that I'm not PlugY's creator, so don't blame me if anything goes wrong with it.

Q: I found a bug?
A: So what? Chances are that I won't patch this mod anytime soon (unless it sparks really big interest, which I seriously doubt). There shouldn't be any critical bugs that prevent you from playing, so if something isn't right, ignore it and continue. Remember, it's all a joke

Q: I want to contact you for reason X.
A: My e-mail is listed in the README, provided in the mod download. You can also send me a message here on the forum.

Credit where it's due:

I'd like to thank everyone who's work I used in this mod, namely cafa and Volf, and the whole d2mod.com modmaking community. I'd also like to thank all the game sprite and sound rippers in the internet, without their rips this mod wouldn't have been possible.

Have fun and tell your friends! You can discuss anything related to the mod in this thread.

One more time, the download: You Gotta Be Kiddin' Me (20.3 MB)

EDIT: Well, kind of a failed introduction because of the site's downtime on April 1st, but anyway
